Global Elite, Media, Government Aligned with Just 17% of Americans

This article was originally published on Conservative-Daily.com.

“Overall, 68 percent of registered voters said the government ‘mainly works to benefit powerful elites” rather than “ordinary people.’”

Yesterday, the NYT Tilt newsletter published, “Threat to Democracy? Start With Corruption, Many Voters Say.”

The subtitle reads, “In a Times/Siena survey, respondents’ concerns about democracy often diverged from typical expert analysis.” The author is stunned that the focus of the American People is so fantastically different from the focus of the establishment elite. Here is a taste:

“When we started our national poll on democracy last week, David Leonhardt’s recent New York Times front-page story on threats to democracy was at the top of my mind. His article focused on two major issues: the election denial movement in the Republican Party, and undemocratic elements of American elected government like the Electoral College, gerrymandering and the Senate.”

The NY Times believes that the Electoral College and the Senate are threats to democracy. Let that sink in. The Republic is a threat to Democracy!

“But when we got the results of our Times/Siena poll late last week, it quickly became clear these were not the threats on the minds of voters. While 71 percent of registered voters agreed that democracy was ‘under threat,’ only about 17 percent of voters described the threat in a way that squares with discussion in mainstream media and among experts — with a focus on Republicans, Donald J. Trump, political violence, election denial, authoritarianism, and so on.”

For real, “only about 17 percent of voters described the threat in a way that squares with discussion in mainstream media and among experts,” is the best part of this whole piece.

The establishment and their experts are so out of touch with the American people that their coverage and focus resonates with just 17 percent of Americans. In other words, they’ve lost the narrative.

“When respondents were asked to volunteer one or two words to summarize the current threat to democracy, government corruption was brought up most often — more than Mr. Trump and Republicans combined…Instead, they point most frequently to a longstanding concern about the basic functioning of a democratic system: whether government works on behalf of the people.”

Here at Daily Dose of Sanity, demanding that government work on behalf of the people is our focus – and every day we tell our legislators to remember their oath. This is not a political message, it’s an American message.

Now that the NY Times is figuring it out, perhaps the Congress will follow suit.

Remember Your Oath: Reconnect with your constituents and begin representing their interests.

Here’s today’s letter to Congress.

ATTENTION CONGRESS:
“Overall, 68 percent of registered voters said the government ‘mainly works to benefit powerful elites” rather than “ordinary people.’”

The NY Times is figuring it out.

“While 71 percent of registered voters agreed that democracy was ‘under threat,’ only about 17 percent of voters described the threat in a way that squares with discussion in mainstream media and among experts — with a focus on Republicans, Donald J. Trump, political violence, election denial, authoritarianism, and so on.”

The focus of our legislative bodies has resonated with and represents just 17 percent of voters.

We know that you’re not working on behalf of the People, and we have given very specific demands for you to redress our grievances about this. To date, you’ve doubled down.

DEMAND FOR REMEDY: Impeach Joe Biden and oust his administration. Reconnect with your constituents and begin representing their interests.

If you continue to stand with just 17% of Americans, representing the interests of globalist elites instead of those who pay your salary, you will prove that you have forgotten your oath.

Remember Your Oath: Reconnect with your constituents and begin representing their interests.
