In The American Crisis, Thomas Paine asserted, “These are the times that try men’s souls; the summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph.”

These words were written in December of 1776, just a day before General George Washington fell to his knees and begged the Almighty for victory, and just two days before that victory was delivered on the Delaware. Washington was also battling for the morale and continued service of his men, as the winter rolled in and the Congress, comfortably in Philadelphia, failed to deliver for those on the front lines. The soldiers were exhausted, freezing, starving, and lacking in all manner of supplies. Many were deserting. Few still believed in the cause of Freedom.

As described on mountvernon.org, “At first glance, the decision to transport 2,400 Continental soldiers across an icy river in one night, directly into a severe winter storm of sleet and snow seems irrational. Washington’s decision, however, was based on strategic motivation, understanding that the Continental Army desperately needed a victory after months of intense fighting with several significant defeats and no major victories.”

Washington instinctively knew what Paine had written just two days earlier: “What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated.”

Today, defeat seems insurmountable, all but a certainty by mainstream measures. And many Patriots who boldly cheered for freedom, only yesterday, are now rolling over and claiming defeat. I guess it started snowing.

I woke up today with a burning desire to get in the streets. I rose, jumped in the shower and jumped in the car, heading to the #stopthesteal rally in Denver. I was picking up “the boy” from a sleepover on my way and, while I was waiting for him outside the house, I first saw the news of “president-elect” Biden.

Now, I wasn’t surprised by this. Biden has to be claimed the winner to put President Trump on the defensive. I have maintained throughout this election season (that seems to have gone on for 47 years — but that’s just Biden’s tenure) that the election would be decided in the Supreme Court. We knew there would be unprecedented fraud in this election because there are procedural changes and relaxations in the middle of an election year. My husband and I both received two ballots during the Colorado primaries, so there was no doubt in my mind that this thing was going to be crooked.

What is surprising is how much the Democrat fraud machine underestimated Trump’s landslide. That is why we have magical ballot drops in the middle of the night, selective software glitches, people filling out ballots (on camera), and overwhelming evidence of conspiracy to commit mail fraud across at least two states — PA and MI — with allegedly 1,000+ whistleblowers who were told to separate ballots to be backdated. Unprecedented indeed.

I maintain that Trump won in a historic landslide, and I believe this will be properly adjudicated in the courts. Yesterday, this was not a controversial viewpoint among conservatives. Yesterday, everyone was ready to fight.

And then the Associated Press, who is unbelievably partisan, called the election for Joe Biden. And everything changed.

Well, not everything. When the boy and I arrived in Colorado Springs — after changing our destination to avoid Denver violence as Antifa took a victory lap — we found America. Over 200 Patriots, of all ages, colors, creeds and socioeconomic backgrounds, came together to protest this fraud. We weren’t protesting Biden. These nationwide protests were planned before the AP made their obvious move. We were protesting voter fraud, which was the mainstream conservative viewpoint until this morning.

The protest was amazing. Pictures and livestream links are available on my Parler. We were out there for close the three hours until the local Police and UDAF asked us to disperse because they feared violence from the gathering counter protesters. We felt we had made our point, so we left.

I let him practice his driving on the way home. We were on a high.

Then I got on social media.

As a very active member of the Tea Party, I should have expected it. I should have known that spinelessness runs deep on the Right. After all, the Tea Party crushed it for the GOP in the 2010 midterms, regaining the House. How did they thank us? They threw us under the bus, backed over us a few times and set us on fire. So I should have expected the Summer Soldiers and Sunshine Patriots. But I didn’t.

I was shocked and horrified to see post after post, from supposed Patriots, calling for unity with the #Communists who stole the election. This would be like the Founders signing the Declaration of Independence, then apologizing at the first sign of British angst. It’s unfathomable. But here we are.

The story of the Tea Party didn’t end in 2010. Five years later, out of those ashes, the #MAGA movement was born. And those of us who were in the Tea Party movement are screaming from the rooftops that now is the time to fight!

Will the recently awakened heed our call?

The American Republic wasn’t established when we declared Independence in 1776. It was established when we won the war in 1783.

The battle for the Republic is raging again in 2020. Does the modern Right have the stomach for the fight?

If you were born before Common Core, you learned about the Revolutionary War and, if you’re like me, you wondered what you would have done in those days. Would I have been a Patriot or a Loyalist?

We don’t have to wonder anymore. Are you a Patriot or are you a Loyalist to the communist, globalist machine that is working overtime to destroy Liberty? Now is the time to decide. The winter soldiers will save the Republic.
